Writer, journalist, podcaster, and poetry event host, Combat Military Veteran.
Aaron is a man who prefers to let his work speak for itself. Growing up in diverse places across the USA—California, Maryland, Florida, and Alabama—he cultivated a rich perspective on life. A Marine Corps infantry combat veteran of the Afghan War, he dedicated 12 years to service before retiring early.
Following his military journey, Aaron found inspiration in Bend, Oregon, a place he lovingly describes as “the creative city inside a national park.” Embracing his passion for storytelling, he pursued studies in English literature and journalism at Central Oregon Community College and OSU-Cascades.
With unwavering devotion to the craft of journalism, he has contributed to The Bend Bulletin, Bend Magazine, Cascade Arts & Entertainment, Visit Bend, and The Broadside Newspaper, and continues to shine as a freelance writer for various news outlets.
Aaron thrives on connecting with people from all walks of life, both locally and globally. He believes, “My curiosity and passion for learning about people and world cultures are the true joys of journalism.”
Aaron is also passionate about serving the community through volunteering and managing programs. He is involved with the Library of Congress Veterans History Project in Bend, Oregon, and the Central Oregon Community College Afrocentric, LatinX, and Native American Program at the Ellipse Theater.
